Gustav A. Horn studied economics at the University of Bonn (Degree: Diplom-Volkswirt) and at the London School of Economics (Degree: M.Sc.). He got his PhD. at TU Berlin in 1992 and worked at DIW Berlin from 1986 to 2004. His last assignment was the head of Macroeconomic Economic a Forecasting Department. In 2005, he became Director of the Macroeconomic Policy °ËØÔ±¬ÁÏ (IMK) at the Hans Boeckler Foundation, a trade union related foundation. Therefore, he is a permanent adviser to the German trade unions. In 2007, he was appointed (external) Professor at the University of Flensburg. In 2012, he also became professor at the University of Duisburg-Essen. He is a member of various political committees and advisor to the SPD, the European Parliament and the Green Party in the German Bundestag and a chairman of the Committee on Social Order to the Protestant Church in Germany. In 2016, Horn became a non-resident Research Fellow at DG ECFIN EU Commission.
